The pleated skirt has a history of more than 1,700 years in China. According to Mystical Records of the West Capital, during the reign of Emperor Cheng of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhao Feiyan was appointed empress. Once, when she was dancing to the music in a purple dress of cloud and blue, a strong wind blew, and she was blown like a swallow. The servant hurriedly grabbed her skirt to save her, but left a lot of creases on the skirt.
